PRIDE sale even more done-er tonight…
Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Nobuyuki Sakakibara has confirmed to the PRIDE US staff that the company is in the process of being sold to Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta. This is what we’ve been telling you all along, and Meltzer is about as reliable a source as you’ll find in the industry. According to Meltzer’s report, the agreement has been reached in principle with a few minor details to be worked out before a contract is signed. The indication is also that PRIDE will continue to be run as a separate company (which is a good thing IMO). Sakakibara also indicated that he’ll no longer be involved but that the rest of the PRIDE US staff will be retained.
