K-1 Dynamite: Brock Lesnar vs. Min Soo Kim
Showing a profile now on Min Soo Kim. Fight is apparently ready to go as they’re introducing Kim, who’s wearing a gi and making his way to the ring to a hip hop song that I can’t make out. Obviously its hard to make a fair determination being as he’s wearing the gi but he sure doesn’t look to be in the same league physically as Lesnar. Hong Man Choi is part of Kim’s entourage. The announcers are doing their best to put a positive spin on Kim’s less than impressive MMA record–admittedly he’s been in with some tough SOB’s like Don Frye. Brock Lesnar gets a nice pop from the fans as he’s introduced. Lesnar still in his sweats, but from my vantage point he looks a lot leaner than during his pro wrestling career–if I didn’t know better with Lesnar’s hood over his head he almost looks like Josh Barnett. Of course the absence of the theme song from “Fist of the North Star” is also a giveaway. Bill Goldberg on commentary now suggesting that were he in better shape physically that *he’d* be in MMA, besides he’s too old at age 40. Two words, Goldberg–Randy Couture.
“Classy” Jimmy Lennon, Jr. now doing the official intros. A familiar face serving as ref here–Steve Mazzagatti, who frequently works UFC events. Kim has removed his gi for the match, which would have been a small advantage for him. Lesnar being introduced now–he’s still leaner than in his WWE days but he’s huge compared to Kim. He also looks a little less cut which doesn’t mean much particularly given Vince McMahon’s fondness for bodybuilders.
Fight starts and Lesnar takes Kim down with ease. Lesnar passes guard like a vet and starts throwing hard rights at Kim’s noggin. Lesnar unloaded a few more heavy punches and when it became apparent to the judoka Kim that he couldn’t do anything to move the mountain of a man on top of him the ref stopped it. One of the announcers suggests that Kim tapped to the ground and pound. We’ll see when the official announcement comes. Not surprisingly, Lesnar was downright monstrous on the ground and looked very comfortable and calm throughout. Brock’s leverage and control on the ground is downright sick. The replay shows that Kim did tap out to Lesnar’s fistic onslaught. Kim had trouble standing after the fight but looks to be OK now. Hard to believe that Kim was a judo silver medalist as he looked completely out of his element on the ground. Time of the match 1:09 of the first round. Glazer heads to the ring to interview Brock…
Lesnar gives props to his training team and thanks the crowd for coming. Fireworks going off mid interview and Lesnar can’t hear. Brock says he had a good time, says he was disappointed that the couldn’t find Hong Man Choi. Lesnar non-committal about his promotional future and I have to think that this video will be sitting on Dana White’s desk Monday morning. Can’t say it was a great fight since Kim didn’t put up a fight, but Lesnar looked excellent against an overmatched opponent and that’s what he needed for his MMA debut.

I think Lesnar do it well, he keep the other guy to the groud easily and control him. I have seen a interview of Kim and he did not take him seriously because of the wwe background Lesnar has..
i think brock has an inate ability to wrestle…..however,anyone in the the fight business knows…..you have to be able to trade on your feet, and if it does go to the ground.have submission skills. That fight was NOT a true litmus test.He would up his ante with some true jui juitsui/boxing guidance and to fight a decent opponent. Then we wil see.
Mir’s entrance song was Superstar by Lupe Fiasco
If this video Im watching is right.
